Some manufacturers of medical treatment or diagnostic equipment, have not evolved for decades. Devices that have proven themselves years ago, still use the same technology today. They have the old proven sound quality and also still look like from the last century. We wanted to rethink and redesign this.
An improved sound quality was needed.... and that was achieved!
Prototyping to Perfection
Various factors have an influence on the sound quality, such as the sound wave distribution or the air tightness. To optimize this, countless prototypes were developed and tested. Beginning with FDM 3D printing, via MJF 3D printing to the metal model.

Enabling rapid replacement of the membrane with an antimicrobial ring (SLS 3D-Prints)

Stabile and airtight attachment of the chest piece to the hose (FDM 3D-Prints)

Adjustment of the funnel shape for optimal sound pressure conduction

Final tests on milled stainless steel models

A stethoscope with character
not only the sound was improved, also the stethoscope gets its character due to innovative materials a stethoscope was developed, which is antibacterial and offers in advance bacteria, viruses and fungi no chance. If you do want to wipe it with a cloth anyway, this is also pretty easy, as there are no hidden corners and gaps where dust or dirt could collect. The modern dynamic design, which is shaped like a rising flower, flatters both the handling and as an accessory on the chest.
Also special thanks to my teammates in product development David Marshall and Annika Thomaschik!
